Satinder Kaur Wanted to Turn a Passion into a Career: Here’s How She Used a Boot Camp Loan to Make it a Reality
Satinder Kaur took her career into her own hands by enrolling in the University of Arizona Coding Boot Camp. With a computer science background, Satinder already had a solid tech foundation. But she recognized there was more ground to cover. Satinder wanted to refine and amplify her coding skills, climb the industry ladder, and work on newer and more exciting projects.
“Solving coding problems always made me so happy,” said Satinder. “To explore this passion, I earned my master’s in computer applications. To enhance my skills in web development, I joined boot camp.”
Satinder is now working as a developer at Cognizant and putting her newfound coding knowledge into practice. Best of all, she did it all without stretching her finances. Here’s how.
Can you tell me about the process of getting a loan for your boot camp program?
SK: When I requested more information about the boot camp, the admissions rep informed me about the financing options available, including Climb Credit. The process of getting a loan through Climb was very simple. Climb needed my documents, a co-signer, and background verification. It can be a challenge to quickly arrange such a large amount of money, so getting a loan felt like the best way to jumpstart my studies. It helped alleviate some of the stress that comes with education. The bank was able to take care of a lot of what I would normally worry about.
Do you have any advice for other boot camp students looking at the Climb loan option?
SK: If money is what is holding you back from enrolling in a boot camp, this loan is the best option for sure. It makes everything so much easier and helped me focus on just doing my best in the program.
What was your favorite part of boot camp? What have you been up to since graduating?
SK: The assignments were my favorite part. I can’t explain how much knowledge I gained in boot camp. It’s a great experience. The applications that they gave us for homework were mind-blowing. I have been using the skills that I learned during boot camp in my new workplace.
What has the loan repayment process been like?
SK: It’s a monthly installment. Before graduation, it was $50 per month. After graduation, it’s been $255 per month.
Do you have any other advice for new boot camp students?
SK: I know students that start boot camp without any experience may find it challenging at first. However, hard work is the key to success. If you are passionate about something, no one can stop you from achieving your goals.
